pocketEMS

Overview

Everything starts with creating and editing forms on the handheld device. At some point, the user decides to add their forms to the Corporate System. This is done by placing the device in its cradle and pressing the HotSync button. The PocketEMS Desktop Server is responsible for retrieving the data from the handheld device and moving it to the desktop PC. Next, the Desktop Server attempts to connect with the Remote Server and transfer the data across the Internet. The Enterprise Server is responsible for integrating the new data with the existing Enterprise Database. Once complete, the Enterprise Server sends a message back to the desktop to indicate that the data was appended successfully. The Desktop Server proceeds to delete the data located in the temporary desktop database and the HotSync process is completed. The information is now available to the entire organization.
